Turning the Tables for Youth - A Place to Play Campaign

Please join us for our most exciting venture since opening in 2000! Westside Recreation Centre is constructing a 65,000 ft2 expansion that will feature a state-of-the-art fitness environment for young people and new, expanded spaces for everyone. Here’s what you’ll see in our new Youth Centre: Youth Wellness Area: leading edge equipment and fitness instruction for all ability levels Cool Active Spaces: the latest interactive fitness equipment, youth-oriented fitness classes, a plasma screen and a DJ booth Youth Gym: dedicated space for youth to shoot hoops, play badminton, sign up for dodgeball or ultimate tournaments Youth Education Room: free homework help and educational seminars of interest to youth Westside is committed to having the best programs, facilities and services for all its users. Our expansion includes new spaces for everyone we serve.

Here’s what you’ll find around Westside:

• More Space for Everyone: New Youth Centre spaces will be fully used during school hours for adult, child and seniors programming.
• New & Expanded Spaces: Another gymnasium, a new cycle studio, new yoga studio, expanded fitness studio, more fitness centre space.
• More Programs: Additional programs can be scheduled as there is more space to accommodate them.
• Increased Childcare: Childcare space will be expanded significantly to provide a higher quality experience and reduce waitlists
• New Change Rooms: An additional set of main floor change rooms, not connected to the pool, will provide users with a comfortable changing experience.
