What does the Fee Assistance Program cover?
The Fee Assistance Program provides subsidies for memberships for adults and their dependants under the age of 18 years and for children’s programs.
How long does Fee Assistance last?
- Memberships subsidies are for one year on a one time per family basis.
- Children’s Program subsidies can be applied for each year and each child in the family may be eligible for two programs per session to a maximum of $100 per session. A minimum registration fee of 10% will be required. The sessions are Fall, Winter/Spring and Summer.
Who is eligible for assistance?
- Families or individuals living within the Calgary City limits.
- Families or individuals whose circumstances meet the financial criteria for assistance and who are unable, not unwilling to pay the full fee.
- Families or individuals willing to make a commitment to regular use of the Westside membership and a healthy lifestyle.
- Families or individuals receiving AISH or Guaranteed Income Supplement.
- Refugees (immigrants entering Canada under Business or Family Class are not eligible for Fee Assistance).
How much of the fee do I have to pay?
The program has been developed so that each family or individual will contribute as much as they can afford. The amount of assistance will vary depending on the number of children in the household, total household income and household expenses. Unfortunately, the amount of assistance cannot be determined without going through the application process.
